Day 1 of the Hostage Takeover

This is the first day that Georgette is past due. It was a fairly difficult decision, but we decided to wait until Tuesday to see if Andrew will come on his own or if we will have to smoke him out(induce him). We spent most of Thursday discussing and talking about what we should do. After discussing the contract with our lawyers, we decided to give him another week's notice on his eviction. I am sad that it had to come to this, but there has to be boundaries.

We also went to a ring ceremony for our upstairs neighbors. It was a good time, and we even walked right in on the festivities. There was a door that came into the reception hall. The main door that is. Well, we were a little late and when we went to open the door Meggane, the bride, was walking down the stairs with her father and a bouquet. We had almost crashed their ring ceremony, and not to mention that everyone was looking right at us, including the bride. Otherwise, the rest of the evening went uneventfully. We watched them dance to the Rascal Flatts song "Broken Road". Then the father daughter dance with the song "I loved her first". There was many a moistened eye in the audience.

It is almost the weekend and I work tomorrow. I wish Andrew would hurry up and give me an excuse for me to take some time off of work... How silly is that? Then we can join the cool club of people who have babies. Yea, yea... Perhaps our next blog will have some cute pictures, even if we have to evict him from his living space. Silly freeloaders...

Alas, it is the end of this post, on this blog. Stay tuned till next time. Same blog time, same blog channel!

Fun in the Sun!!!

This is a picture of 9400 S. The reason we took this picture is the contrast in the two types of tree's. The tree's on the left have no green foliage yet, while the ones on the right are sure happy it's spring time.

This is a picture that was taken by Georgette. She sure is a natural! This was also taken on 9400 S.

Here is a beautiful white looking tree that we saw just across the street from the flag in the previous picture. I just love spring! Everything smells so good.... and looks so beautiful.

The results are in..... After many torturous days of waiting for the grades to come in, the points have been tallied and it's a resounding finale for the spring. I am not quite sure how it all came about, but I ended up with a 3.6 GPA for this semester...

The most amazing part.... I earned a better grade in history than I did in math. I did all my assignments and homework for math and barely cracked open my history book. I was awake all the time in math and fell asleep in almost every class I went to in history. I guess that means that I can b.s. my way easier in history than math.

Yesterday, Georgette and I had a rousing time at the park with our ever loyal and faithful Frisbee fetcher, NILSON! No matter how many times we tried to rid ourselves of that contraption, he promptly returned it to us. How thoughtful is that? Here is some evidence of this event.

He looks so happy, No?

Here are a couple of guests that joined us at the park.

Here is Nilson making sure they are staying out of trouble. You know how mischievous ducks can be, especially in the spring.... erm ok, maybe not...

What month is it again?

Last week, it was the first of May. Subsequently, there was quite a bit of this substance that was light in it's descent. Having the characteristics of crystal and also made of the most abundant substance known here on planet earth, H2O. I'm not sure how this happened, but here are a couple pictures of its reality. Please, if you have children or those of a faint heart... let them leave the room now.

Here is the image of the white substance that was encountered on May 1st. Believe it or not!

This is the terrified chauffeur Nilson who was obviously scared to be driving in the "snow" again.

School is finally finished for the semester and I probably have around a B, B+ average in my classes. It feels good to not have to stress about what I'm not able to read and study for, but now I have reached a new quandary. What to do with the spare time I have now...

Georgette is enduring pretty well with the last part of the pregnancy. She is definitely ready to have Andrew on the outside. We cleaned out the car on Saturday and installed the car seat on Sunday. We did a test run with it and it is pretty stable. I don't think it will go anywhere with the straps and seatbelt securing it down. It looked really strange and in a way really good to see it, like a dream that is finally starting to come true.

Also, on Thursday, there was a baby shower thrown for Georgette by the ward. It really was a miracle to see. So many sisters pitched in and came together to do so much for her. She felt really awkward because she is usually so invisible at church. We go, say hi to a few people and then retreat home. Not this time... It was really amazing to me because it seems that normally in this ward, the people who live in the apartment complex are kind of a separate entity. The neighborhood families are also a separate entity, as well as the Villa's. The part that was amazing was that the whole ward came together to do something for someone living in the apartments.

Today in Sacrament meeting, I sang itsy bitsy spider to Andrew and after I was done, Georgette felt him turn or move when I stopped. Perhaps this is a way we can coax him out. Sing part of a song or read part of a book and then promise to finish it when he decides to join us outside the womb.

Here are some of the last pictures of Georgette and her belly before Andrew joins us.

Please notice her belly and not the dog in the background. He was just looking for 15 minutes of fame and petting.

I must admit, she is the most beautiful woman on the planet to date! I am grateful for her and every morning that she wakes up with me to make breakfast. For all the beautiful smiles she gives to me. For the many times she holds my hand and scratches my neck. For the encouragement she gives me with school. The list could go on and on...

What a wonderful helper!

What's that Nilson? You want to help? What about Timmy, is he still in the well?

Yes Nilson, you sure are a great help!

You are so helpful! You are holding it in place so well!

Yes, that really is you holding that up with your back!

Tahdah! Look, it's a changing table! You sure do look exhausted after holding that table up for so long Nilson!

We were able to put together the changing table that we picked up the other day. It sure was a pain to put together! I would say that it was close to the pleasure level of dragging your fingers over a chalk board.

Look what the crib stork braught home!

It is a brand new all improved, piece of furniture made in Vietnam! It's a bird! It's a plane, No! It's a super crib! (well, not really super, but it is a crib for Andrew) And what does that mean ladies and gentlemen? That there were lots and lots of shorter folk in Vietnam who made this for us! How thoughtful is that?

If you notice, it also came with a feline from somewhere too. (just kidding, it's really our cat Penny) She felt the need to inspect the crib and see if it was up to her standards as a cat. Needless to say, it has passed the Penny test and there was much rejoicing! (Halfheartedly) Yea..... And in a totally unrelated story, there were no Holy Hand Grenades ever used while assembling this bed. An enchanter named Tim thought about showing up, but he said he had an engagement with some explosions or something. I'm not quite sure what that means, or who invited him.
Georgette's appointments now are a week apart. It is now crunch time, well, not really but uh, it sounded good? Things are going along perfectly. Georgette's health is doing well, and Andrew is doing just fine himself. His heartbeat is steady and around the 150's. He is getting much more active and is now letting me feel his actions.
Andrew will move tons just for Georgette and every time I put my hand on her belly to feel him, he stops. It's like he's going to get in trouble. Georgette would say, 'Just wait till your father gets home!' Either that or he's not scared of me anymore, which I hope... I don't know how to describe what it feels like to feel him move. Part of me wonders if this is all real, or if it is some dream and I will wake up soon. Part of me questions whether or not I am ready to be a father and provide for this small family we have. Then I think about my nephew and all that I hear about him and I get excited.
I get excited to hold him for the first time, to see him smile for the first time, or smile at all. I wonder what he's going to look like. If he's going to have this enormous bumpy head like mine, or if he'll have a normal head like Georgette's. What color is his hair going to be? What color will his eyes be? How much fun it is going to be to be able to play with him and make him laugh. What will he be interested in? Cars like Eli, or something I really like. Scientific stuff like Astronomy, or physics, or electronics or something like that.
We were out and about and drove by a park where there were a lot of people practicing for baseball. It reminded me of when I was a strappling young lad and I started playing. (I can't believe it's been that long ago. It seems like I was doing it just a few years ago.) I enjoyed playing baseball so much and I wonder if Andrew will enjoy playing. I wonder about so much sometimes. It is my hope, though, that he learns from my mistakes and gets a chance to make some of his own that I haven't already made.

And Now For Something Completely Different!
This was taken in Oregon when Georgette and I were on our honeymoon.

Anywho, it is now time for bed. Murray's love bed and I'm a bed bear, so I do care, so I sleep there.

P.S. I think someone has hijacked my indentation for my paragraphs. Perhaps I should report it to the Tab Key Enforcement Agency. There has to be some sort of standards!

Where, Oh Where Has My Belly Room Gone?

This is a picture of Georgette at 32 weeks.
Notice the glow surrounding her, and also her lovely complection. See the well groomed arm hair and well lotion'd eyelids?

Oh where, oh where can it be? This seems to be the stage where Georgette is at in the pregnancy. Each time she sits down, her ribcage becomes a cage, for a cage match by the ruthless and fierce cage fighter, Andrew! Yes, he is being trained as a cage fighter. No, he doesn't have any full body shots yet, so you are just going to have to be really kind of t.o.'d.
Spring (keep the commandments) break just ended a week ago and it was pretty detrimental to my moral for school. It was just a big tease, however, I did do some catching up for History. It is almost like a lit class. I have read more in that class, or *cough* was assigned to read more than my English class. I think I did surprise my teacher when I added comments in class that I'd read . For a split second, I saw her eyes bulge as if they were going to pop out of her head in surprise.
Georgette is also working from home now for JetBlue. She really enjoys it so far and really enjoys working in almost her pajama's. I must say, I am quite envious of her sometimes. I get to run all over the place and do some somewhat hazardous to my health jobs for a little bit more than she gets paid. She gets to sit at home in a nice cushy captains chair and might break a sweat if the weather is hot enough.
We also had the baby shower for Andrew a couple weeks ago and we inherited a lovely diaper cake, a bungaboo, or bungle, or balooga, or bologna, or bugaboo, whatever it is, that foam seat that you can place a baby in after they can hold up their own neck. (I can never remember the name of that little device.) A crib was purchased for him and now we have to wait for it to come in. It's almost like Christmas! Not..... We do get to put it together though, which is always exciting.... sort of....
We are really excited to have a baby boy in our household. We aren't sure how everything will work out, but that's the gift of life. To learn and grow and become "edumatated".

A Day Together

There's been quite a bit going on since the last post. School and work have taken up quite a bit of my time, and it's not been too cool. I kinda miss hanging out with my wife and spending time together. We finally put a stop to that today though. I worked on Sunday and got today off. So, we spend the whole entire day together. We started out by talking when we woke up. Then we took Nilson down to the dog park in Sandy and ran him out of energy. The best part was when he took his frisbee, set it down on the ground and laid right on top of it. It was as if he were saying, OK ENOUGH! NO MORE! Can't you see my tongue lopping down almost on the ground? I pick it up and bring it back to you, and you throw it away. Sheesh, some dogs peoples!

We then spent most of the rest of the day down at Temple Square. We went through the family movie on the second floor of the North Visitors Center. Then went and watched the Joseph Smith movie in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. Georgette said she hadn't seen the movie. We also saw an older missionary who always gives me and my co-workers a hard time about cleaning the windows whenever he sees us. We walked around a little after the movie and then came home.

Georgette is working for JetBlue now, and will be coming home soon, hopefully. The doctor's appointment went really well. Georgette has a good weight and great blood pressure. Go go gadget working out! We are really excited about Andrew coming to join us in this life. A bit nervous from time to time.... but I guess that's to be expected.

It was just a really nice day getting to spend it with Georgette. We both agreed that we get to spend more days like this together. Here is a picture of us in front of the reflection pool right near the temple.
